Jaguar Land Rover introduced the revolutionary drone Project VectorFebruary 19, 2020
With the help of this autonomous car, the manufacturer spoke about his vision of the future transport for megacities. Electric drones not only care about the environment, but also “unload” roads from traffic jams, simultaneously reducing the number of accidents.
The conceptual Project Vector from the British company Jaguar Land Rover is an autonomous electric car whose length is about four meters. Next year, the Project Vector drone will be tested on the road. The English town of Coventry was chosen as the “testing ground”. In the meantime, the manufacturer introduces us to a new product, which is distinguished by its multitasking: the car is ideal for passenger or commercial traffic.
The electric power plant and batteries developers have allocated a floor area. Thanks to this arrangement, it was possible to increase the number of internal space configurations. Also, if desired, the platform can be increased immediately by one meter.
Battery capacity varies from 60 to 90 kW. This is enough for the drone to travel from 248 to 298 kilometers.
It is planned that in the first stage only 20 copies of Project Vector will be released, and they will be tested under the supervision of a person. This will allow them to move without amendments to existing legislation and improvements to the related infrastructure. The novelty is part of the Destination Zero program, the main purpose of which is zero amount of harmful emissions, elimination of road congestion and accidents, as well as the introduction of new technologies in everyday life.
