Jaguar Land Rover Head: Next Generation XJ Will Be Electric

Jaguar will launch the next-generation flagship XJ with an all-electric powerplant. This was stated by President of Jaguar Land Rover Ralph Shpet, speaking at the opening ceremony of the new design center of the concern. All other information about the project is kept secret.

Earlier, the chief designer of “Jaguar” Julian Thomson said that the new XJ will be “a very beautiful luxury car, which at the same time does not work like a traditional large executive sedan.”

According to unofficial data, the future car will be based on the scalable MLA architecture, which provides for the use of both traditional internal combustion engines and hybrid or fully electric circuits. It is expected that the new Jaguar XJ will be equipped with four electric motors with a capacity of 200 liters. from. each and a set of batteries per 100 kilowatt hours. However, there is no official confirmation of this information yet.

The first all-electric Jaguar model was the I-Pace. The crossover is equipped with two electrical units, which in total give out 400 liters. from. and 696 Nm of torque.
