Jaguar F-Type sports car officially debutedDecember 3, 2019
The public premiere of the new product was scheduled for December 2, but images of the debutant without any camouflage appeared on the Web the day before. Such a false start, by the way, did not hurt the new product.
The new Jaguar F-Type has undergone extensive restyling: it not only received a new look, but also acquired advanced technologies. So, in terms of appearance, the novelty got a larger front air intake, matrix headlights on LEDs with turn signals in the form of a “running line” (for a fee), as well as other taillights and a bumper. The manufacturer has worked more thoroughly on the new interior.
Traditional analog sensors have given way to a virtual instrument cluster with a diagonal of 12.3 inches. Multimedia supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and can be updated “over the air.” Also, the new Jaguar F-Type relies on more expensive finishing materials.
There are few changes in the technical part. From the current F-Type generation, the novelty borrowed a two-liter four-cylinder turbo and a three-liter supercharged V6. But the five-liter V8 has undergone refinement. The 575-horsepower motor from the SVR line is available in the F-Type R modification. With such a motor, the car accelerates to “hundreds” in just 3.5 seconds, and its maximum speed reaches 299 km / h. Also, brand engineers worked on the suspension of the new Jaguar F-Type and installed wider tires on it.
Europeans will gain access to the new 444-horsepower V8. A car with such a power unit can have rear-wheel or four-wheel drive, and acceleration to “hundreds” in this case takes 4.4 seconds. Both versions of the V8 boast a “silent start” function: the engines start with closed shutters in the exhaust tract. The pre-order for a novelty in Europe is already open. The cost of the coupe starts at 64,200 euros, roadsters – 71,200 euros.
