Jaguar has received the green light for the development and implementation of all-electric SUV for 2018. It is expected that the new Jaguar on electric traction will present by the end of this year. Currently there is no information which name it will bear. Perhaps it will be E-Pace, as this patented Jaguar brand.
We can assume that the electric SUV will be based on the platform of Jaguar Land Rover, presented by year ago at the event dedicated to cars with low carbon in Bedfordshire.
It is believed that E-Pace will be slightly smaller than the F-Pace and will be made in a more dramatic style.
E-Pace project demonstrates how electric drive can provide great performance and handling, and exceptional refinement. The new Jaguar is an example of how energy batteries may underlie of serious productive car.
Jaguar’s permission to launch the first electric vehicle Jaguar Land Rover will help brand to get rid of its image of “old world” and to join the upcoming racing series Formula E.
E-Pace is completed so as to meet market requirements crossover under US law. It is important for Jaguar Land Rover, because they need to sell their electric cars in some important areas, such as the California market over the next decade, in addition to selling models with conventional combustion engines.
Front engine develops power of 114 hp and drives the front wheels via a single-speed transmission. Rear engine develops power of 195 hp and is driven using two-speed transmission ZF. The combined capacity of about 308 hp.
