Jaguar came up with a name for the new sports carJuly 13, 2018
The company Jaguar has registered in the European patent office a trade mark J-Type. According to the edition of AutoGuide, the new model can become a potential successor of the sports car F-Type.
In 2016, the chief designer of Jaguar, Ian Callum, in an interview with Road & Track said that the model that would replace the F-Type could become a mid-engined sports car – that was the initial concept of F-Type.
Another option – under the name J-Type, the British manufacturer will release a luxurious Grand Tourer with a landing formula of 2 + 2. Callum also spoke about the possibility of the appearance of such a car in the line. The company is also considering the idea of producing an electric hypercar.
To date, the Jaguar range includes crossovers E-Pace, F-Pace, electric i-Pace, F-Type sports car, as well as XE, XF sedans (depending on the market, also available in the station wagon) and XJ.
