Italians build Audi A8 allroad all-terrain wagonDecember 21, 2018
The body atelier Castagna from Milan showed the teaser of its new project – the Audi A8 allroad station wagon. SUV is built on the basis of a stretched sedan of the previous generation, equipped with all-wheel drive and a 6.3-liter W12 engine.
Details about the car is not reported. Aluminum and carbon fiber are used in the body structure, with the help of which, probably, the rear part and the roof were increased. The Qwest atelier did the same when it turned the Tesla Model S into a liftback wagon. At Audi, the donor’s trunk lid underwent a significant rework. After the modifications, the off-road A8 will resemble Allroad cars, with a plastic protective body kit in a circle and roof rails.
Under the hood, the Audi A8 Allroad has a 6.3-liter, naturally-aspirated W12 with 500 horsepower and 625 Nm of torque. The traction is transmitted to all wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. From a spot to a hundred, the usual Audi A8 L W12 can accelerate in 4.7 seconds. The maximum speed is 250 kilometers per hour.
