For the first time, the Italian automaker spoke about P72 in early 2019, but now new data on the supercar has appeared.
The first information about the new De Tomaso model was received at the beginning of 2019. The advent of the P72 model allowed the company to return to the global car market for the 60th anniversary of the brand. More data has not appeared since then. New P72 will receive a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine created by Ford. The motor is capable of producing 700 hp. and 825 Nm of torque. Transmission car will receive a 6-speed manual transmission. It is worth noting that this engine is installed in the P70, Mangusta and Pantera models, but only for the P72 the engine is modified in the Roush tuning studio.
The car maker said the Ford Mustang GT’s 5.0-liter V8 as an engine will make it easier to find repair parts. From the moment the De Tomaso P72 arrives, customers will have access to a huge selection of parts from the Mustang GT.
Appearance De Tomaso P72 is created in retro style, which combines retro and modern design elements. The car is created on a carbon chassis from the Apollo Intensa Emozione (IE) hypercar.
The automaker will produce this car only in a limited edition of 72 copies. According to available information, the price of each P72 will be at least 750 thousand euros.
