Italian Lamborghini will introduce a new model on May 7May 1, 2020
In a press release published by the Italian brand’s press service, the “new model” was mentioned, which will be shown online on May 7th. It is expected that the new version will be either a new version of the Urus crossover, or the Aventador coupe receiver.
Lamborghini stopped mass production of its cars at the plant in Sant’Agata Bolognese since March 13 – the outbreak of the coronavirus is to blame. The automaker’s initial management plan was to resume work on March 25th. This announcement was made in a press release, which at the very end contains interesting details related to the new model.
The last paragraph reveals the intention of Lamborghini to hold the world online premiere of the new car on May 7, while the details of the new product are kept secret.
Despite the fact that the current flagship model Aventador has existed for about ten years, its replacement should not appear in the near future. More recently, it was said that a new company model with a V12 engine will appear in 2024. We may not have to wait so long, but still we doubt that the successor to Aventador will be presented next Thursday.
According to rumors, the Huracan Super Trofeo Omologato (STO), which will have the same 5.2-liter V10 with 640 horsepower as the Huracan Performante, but with a “weight loss” of 150 kg, may become a novelty. It is also said that this car will receive both an improved aerodynamic body kit and numerous improvements borrowed from a real Huracan Super Trofeo race car.
We believe that the Italian brand plans to introduce a new version of the Urus crossover – either a more powerful version of the model, or its plug-in hybrid modification.
