Italdesign helped to build Nissan anniversary GT-RJune 29, 2018
Two companies have teamed up to create a special version of the sports coupe in honor of his 50th birthday.
The prototype, called the Nissan GT-R50, is based on the model GT-R Nismo 2018 model year. By the way, the novelty also marks the 50th anniversary of the Italian design house. The premiere of the model in Europe will take place next month.
Italdesign specialists were engaged in the development and construction of the car, and its appearance was created by the joint efforts of London’s Nissan Design Europe and Nissan Design America. A key feature was the gold element, which runs almost along the entire length of the body of the car. The front part has been redesigned – a new hood and LED headpiece have been installed. The length of the GT-R50 is 4,784 mm, which is 94 mm larger than the standard Nismo, the width is 1,992 mm (+97 mm), the height is 1,316 mm (-54 mm). The wheelbase has not changed – 2,780 mm.
The roof line is 54 mm lower, new rear lights are installed, as well as a large adjustable rear spoiler on the two racks. Sportcar equipped with a set of specially designed 21-inch wheels. The finishing touch was the gray shade of the body of Liquid Kinetic, contrasting with the gold insert of Energetic Sigma.
The salon is finished with carbon fiber of two types, and the seats are upholstered in a combination of black Alcantara and high-quality Italian leather. The external gold finish resembles the accents in the interior. The sports steering wheel is made of carbon and is covered with Alcantara.

In the engine compartment of the car there is a petrol engine V6 VR38DETT in capacity of 3.8 liters, the output of which, presumably, will be 720 hp and 780 Nm. The list of technical upgrades of the engine for the Nissan GT-R50 includes: other turbochargers with large turbine diameter and enlarged intercoolers, reinforced crankshaft, pistons, connecting rods and bearings, and a number of other parts replacements for more efficient and optimized ignition, air intake and exhaust gas systems. Strengthened six-step preselective gearbox with double clutch, differentials and drive shafts.
Suspension of the Japanese sports car received a system of continuous adjustment of damping force BILSTEIN DampTronic® I. Brembo brakes with six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers of contrasting red are fitted, and 21-inch wheels are shod in rubber Michelin Pilot Super Sport 255/35 R21 in front and 285/30 R21 back.
