Korean brands KIA and Hyundai are starting a large-scale service campaign in the United States. 591 thousand cars will fall under the recall. We are talking about the KIA Optima business sedan, as well as the KIA Sorento and Hyundai Santa Fe crossovers, which rolled off the assembly line in 2013-2015. The reason for the recall was a possible brake fluid leak.
If this happens, there will be a possibility of a short circuit in the wiring and even a fire. The first reports of a similar problem appeared two years ago – then it was said that there is a possibility of a fire even if the engine is turned off. The problem has been the most widespread for KIA Optima – repairs are needed for 283,803 of these cars that were produced in 2013-2015.
In the case of KIA Sorento, 156,567 cars of 2014 and 2015 will be sent to the service, and owners of 151,000 Hyundai Santa Fe 2013-2015 cars will also be asked to come for repairs.
All car owners will be notified in the near future and asked to come to a convenient service center. Repairs will be carried out free of charge.
