Isuzu introduced the concept of its own unmanned truck before its official debutOctober 15, 2019
Future new FLIR will receive autonomous control systems, as well as the ability to connect in a single column with one head truck. Moreover, the trucks will receive a modern aerodynamic design.
Isuzu FLIR is a new truck concept from a Japanese company that will be presented at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show. The public debut will take place on October 23, 2019, but the press service of the brand decided to tell in advance about its new product and show some photos.
The main feature of the new trucks will be an autonomous control system that can integrate into a single network with similar trucks. This will allow you to create a single column of transport with one head transport at the beginning, and several subordinate tractors that respond to commands and information from the head transport. This will allow all trucks to adapt to the same rhythm of movement, respond to dangerous situations, as well as minimize traffic jams and reduce fuel consumption.
Specifications have not yet been disclosed. So far, we can only judge a design made in the style of sea animals (according to the manufacturer). In addition, the car resembles a “powerful robot with a shark appearance,” the company added.
Similar systems are developed by other world leaders in the segment, including the German concern Daimler. Whether the information systems will be created with a single standard and with the possibility of integration with each other is still unknown.
