Isuzu built a couple of extreme SUVs

The Japanese company introduced two conceptual off-road vehicles in Australia.

Isuzu Team D-Max used the National 4 × 4 Outdoors Show in Melbourne for the premiere of two pumped concepts – the D-Max and the MU-X Concept X. The key feature of both cars was a striking appearance and an effective off-road component. Recall SUV MU-X is built on the basis of pickup D-Max.

Both off-road cars received sets of 20-inch black wheels shod in the 38 / 15.5R20 Mud Terrain rubber from Toyo, inflated by almost 18 cm clearance and a five-link rear suspension coil on the D-Max pickup truck and the MU-X SUV , with forward and back angles of patency of 50 and 38 degrees, respectively.

Also on the concepts were advanced shock absorbers with a 60 mm outer tank on all wheels, and front 390 mm and rear 355 mm brake rotors.

The cars were equipped with new vented convex hoods, winches on both sides and new footsteps. Another exclusive design of the body was made in a contrasting black and white theme with additional graphics. The Isuzu D-Max Concept X pickup truck has a completely new cargo platform with spare tire slots and four fuel canisters. The front part is decorated in the same style with red lensed optics and pronounced protection.

In the engine compartment of both cars there is a three-liter diesel turbo four 4JJ1-TC, borrowed from serial models with a return of 176 hp. and 430 Nm of torque, combined with a six-speed transmission. True, the stock discharge system was replaced by a more productive one.

Modified Isuzu D-Max and MU-X have the status of concepts. Whether serial production of such models is planned, while it is not known.
