Is Ram testing 1500 trucks in the powerful SRT version?September 19, 2020
Some publications have shared very curious photos of camouflaged Ram1500 trucks. The cars received a lower ground clearance, as well as some suspension elements, which were last seen in the “street” truck Dodge Ram SRT-10.
A couple of minutes ago, our publication had very interesting photos at its disposal. These four shots were taken in Arizona, USA and show several full-size Ram 1500 trucks wrapped in camouflage. These could be test vehicles for a new high-performance street truck. It is possible that the novelty may receive the designation Ram SRT Hellcat.
These photos offer compelling evidence to support this.
First, the trucks are clearly not off-road. The ground clearance looks a bit lower than the standard 1500 AWD, and the tires are lightweight Bridgestone tires designed for street use. It seems to be trucks with a Quad-Cab and a 5’7 ”body. Ram does not officially offer this combo, and given the lack of single cab trucks, this would be the smallest full-size Ram truck you could get. For a powerful street truck, this would be the best configuration.
Take a close look at the rear axle of the prototype in one of the photos. If these lower arms are not designed for special struts, it looks suspiciously like independent rear suspension tuning. Another picture shows the wheels that were last seen on the departed but not forgotten “charged” truck Dodge Ram SRT-10 with the engine from the sporty Viper.
In addition, the large support beams from the cab to the rear can be used for evaluation purposes to see how the shorter, lighter truck can handle the Hellcat’s colossal torque.
Recently, AutoTimesNews wrote that Ram announced the 2021 1500 Classic in the Warlock All-Terrain Pack. The press service of the American automaker has published information about the full-size pickup Ram 1500 Classic Warlock All-Terrain Pack version of the 2021 model year. Expect more off-road-focused add-ons.
