Introduced the new Naked KTM 890 Duke R 2020November 17, 2019
At the EICMA 2019 exhibition, a new naked from the Austrian company KTM was presented. A motorcycle is a real breakthrough! It is expected that he will significantly surpass his competitors in many aspects.
Last year, the Austrian motorcycle manufacturer showed the mid-size Duke 790, which was built around an in-line twin-cylinder power unit LC8c. Since then, the appearance of a “charged” version was expected. However, KTM decided to surpass themselves and presented not just a more powerful version, they added 91 cc to the engine, created a new cylinder head, increased valve sizes, etc. In the end, we got the KTM 890 Duke R 2020 year.
The engine produces a power of 121 horsepower and 99 Nm of torque – this figure is 10% better than the characteristics of its predecessor. The frame has not changed, but the suspension has undergone modernization. The motorcycle received a 43 mm fork of an inverted WP Apex type, and at the rear, a WP monoshock mounted without progression, which helped to save the weight of the bike. The claimed consumption is 4.74 liters per 100 km.
The novelty received the best brakes in its class – Brembo Stylema front calipers, which work together with lightweight brake discs of 320 mm. The capacity of the fuel tank is 14 liters, and the dry weight reaches 166 kg – this is a good result for a motorcycle.
There is no exact information on the cost of the KTM 890 Duke R 2020, and for the US market it will be available no earlier than next fall.
