Introduced Porsche Cayman with Mustang Coyote V8 engineJuly 6, 2020
The owner of this 987-generation Porsche Cayman once decided that he definitely didn’t have the power that a standard car engine produces. That is why, he installed a powerful engine from the Ford Mustang supercar under the hood of the car.
The Porsche Cayman 987 was by no means a boring sports car. In fact, its more powerful version, the Cayman R, which was equipped with a 3.4-liter inline six-cylinder engine, produced up to 326 horsepower (370 Nm).
The mentioned numbers were enough to accelerate the second-generation Cayman to 100 km / h in five seconds (in the case of 6MKPP). The mid-engined Porsche has a top speed of 282 km / h.
Apparently the owner of such an ATVO thought that this capacity was not enough for him. This man thought he needed more, and which engine would suit him best if not the Ford Mustang 5.0-liter naturally aspirated Coyote V8?
The video, which appeared on the Power By The Hour Performance Youtube channel back in 2016, shows a Porsche Cayman with a Mustang GT engine.
The “transplant” of the engine, of course, meant that the V8 engine would certainly be located behind the driver’s seat. The owner of this car says that the engine power is now 428 horsepower (494 Nm), which, as before, is fed to the rear wheels. I must say that this is a pretty impressive increase in power.
However, there is only one problem. Without any casing, this engine, which is located in the cabin, will make a huge amount of noise, so it is not clear how it was possible to control such a Cayman.
