Introduced mirrored discs with wear control technologySeptember 17, 2020
The new development is intended for electric vehicles
Brembo has developed new brake discs with an innovative coating that allows the finished product to achieve a mirror-like effect while maintaining braking performance.
The new brake discs are named Greentive. They are based on High-Velocity-Oxy-Fuel technology, which achieves a mirror effect as well as prolonged service life. According to the developers, since the new discs are less subject to wear and tear, they will produce less metal dust, which in turn will have a positive impact on the environment.
In addition to the unique composition, engineers have applied a special company logo to the new discs, which is a kind of wear indicator. As the time to replace the product approaches, the brand logo will gradually fade. In addition, a new mirror finish increases the corrosion resistance of the discs.
Greentive wheels are primarily designed for electric vehicles. Experts declare that they are ready to make products for solid, ventilated or perforated brakes. At the moment, the delivery date and cost of the mirrors are unknown.
In November last year, a US motorist showed a video of the process of making spokeless epoxy wheels. In the resulting transparent structure, he built LEDs that light up with colors while driving for showiness.
