Introduced curious Ford Transit NuggetPlus camper with lifting roofSeptember 4, 2020
A compact RV based on the Ford Transit Custom model. When working on the new product, the Ford team was assisted by Westfalia, whose main specialization is campers.
One of the main features of the new touring Ford Transit NuggetPlus is the Tilt Roof. Previously, it could be found on the more compact Nugget. The long wheelbase model was content with a high fixed roof. Now such a camper has got a more functional version, from which there are many advantages.
One of them is more economical fuel consumption. The automaker itself has calculated that this is a savings of 7% when compared to a camper with a conventional roof. Another no less pleasant bonus – the new “Ford” has opened parking lots with a limited ceiling height. On the new roof, if desired, there is a place for all kinds of equipment that are indispensable for hiking. The ceiling height at the highest point is 2.4 meters from the floor.
In terms of dimensions, the novelty is much more modest than traditional campers, but this does not prevent it from guaranteeing travelers a comfortable stay.
There is a kitchenette, a bedroom, a small but very cozy living room, a washbasin and a toilet. There is also Wi-Fi. The car is driven by a two-liter diesel Ford EcoBlue, whose power varies from 130 to 185 hp. Transmission – 6MKPP or automatic transmission. European customers of the brand will be able to place an order for the new product in November. But the first deliveries will have to wait until the 1st quarter of next year.
Earlier it became known that the current director of the McLaren racing team acquired the team’s motorhome, which was used in the 70s of last year. The striking car was produced in a single copy.
