Subaru showcased its second generation BRZ sports coupe.
The novelty is equipped with a modernized chassis and a 2.4-liter 228-horsepower engine. The new engine provides a lower center of gravity and can be operated in conjunction with a 6-speed manual transmission or automatic transmission, which has a new Sport mode, which allows faster switching between speeds.
The new BRZ weighs 1,315 kg and is achieved with an aluminum roof, front fenders and hood. Speaking of the interior of the model, there is a new 7-inch digital dashboard on which various information can be displayed, as well as a multimedia system with an 8-inch screen and support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. In turn, expensive sports car configurations will also receive Subaru’s proprietary EyeSight Driver Assist Technology.
As for the dimensions of the new item, it has become 30 mm longer than its predecessor, the width is the same and lower by 10 mm, and the wheelbase is 2575 mm, which is 5 mm more than the outgoing model. At the same time, the Japanese company has not yet begun to disclose the dynamic performance of the updated BRZ.
Subaru says it will set up production of the new BRZ model at its facility in Japan. Sales of new items should start next fall.
