Interior view: impudent kid Abarth 500 drives on the AutobahnMarch 2, 2021
A video has appeared on the YouTube channel AutoTopNL showing the dynamic capabilities of the high-performance hatchback Abarth 500 while driving on the German Autobahn. The car was able to accelerate to 200 km / h
As part of their new video, the AutoTopNL team from the YouTube channel of the same name shows what the 500 Abarths can do on the Autobahn. This 500 Abarth has some powertrain upgrades that bring the 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder now 170 horsepower (280 Nm). The transmission is a standard five-speed manual transmission.
When driving at normal highway speeds, the 500 Abarth holds the road fairly confidently, but things become different as the speed increases. At around 140 km / h, the little hatchback starts to bounce a little. As the speed increases, this swinging motion only intensifies. By 170 km / h, it feels like the powerful version of Fiat’s compact hatchback is becoming very unmanageable.
However, the driver was able to accelerate the 500 Abarth to 200 km / h.
In Europe, buyers can still get high-performance versions of the 500 Abarth with the classic combustion engine. Fiat President Olivier François previously said on social media that an Abarth version of the electric 500e will eventually be released. There are not many details about the latter yet.
Not so long ago, AutoTimesNews wrote that the future Abarth 500 Electric hot hatch was shown on exclusive renders. The current model line of Abarth, a company from Turin, Italy, that produces sports cars based on Fiat, is gradually expanding. The next update may be related to the Fiat 500e.
