Interesting fact about the updated coupe Porsche 911December 17, 2018
The information concerns the Carrera S and the Carrera 4S of a completely new generation of the German sports coupe, which received an internal index of 992. It is noteworthy that the maximum possible speed is achieved only in sixth gear, and not in seventh or eighth gear.
I must say that the changes in the new generation of the Porsche 911, compared with the old, admittedly, are quite insignificant. Perhaps they can see only true fans of the model.
But there is one thing in the new 911, which is a bit disturbing – it is its maximum speed, which is equal to 305 km / h.
In contrast to the same 911 GT2 RS, which is only 16 km / h less – and in fact the 911 GT2 RS is positioned as a more powerful version of the sports coupe.
It is known that the updated version of the Carrera S got the maximum speed almost like its predecessor, the difference is only 1.61 km / h. While the Carrera 4S boasts a more noticeable improvement – from 302 to 305.71 km / h. But in fact, this figure for each modification of the 911 coupe has not changed much.
Of the innovations of the new generation of 911, it is worth noting the new 8-step “automatic” with double clutch. This PPC was taken from the Panamera fastback, changed a bit and put in a coupe. It turns out that the maximum speed of 305 km / h is achieved on the sixth gear, and not on the seventh, and not even the eighth. Moreover, it doesn’t depend on which PPC is installed – the PDK “robot” or the usual “mechanics”.
