Infiniti will show hybrid coupe Project Black S in ParisSeptember 28, 2018
Infiniti will bring a concept car called Project Black S. to the Paris auto show, which will open on October 2. The Renault Sport F1 team also participated in the creation of the prototype. It is not excluded that in the future the concept will receive a serial version.
Project Black S is a version of the Q60 coupe with an aerodynamic body kit and a hybrid powerplant. The machine must demonstrate that hybrid technology can be used in the most powerful models. And the Japanese themselves borrowed the technology from the world of “Formula 1”. The power plant Project Black S will include an energy recovery system (ERS), similar to the KERS system on racing cars. When braking, the coupe will be able to accumulate energy, subsequently using it during acceleration.
The composition of the hybrid power plant included a 3.0-liter V6 gasoline engine with a 400 hp output. Total power Project Black S – 570 hp Acceleration to “hundreds” of the coupe will take about 4 seconds.
Earlier, Infiniti officially announced that the first serial electric car of the brand will appear in 2021 and will be built on a completely new platform. The first completely “green” model will be primarily focused on the Chinese market.
In addition to full-fledged electric vehicles (EV), customers will be offered partially electrified models (e-POWER). This technology is a circuit with a small gasoline engine that recharges the battery pack. The company explained that this eliminates the need for an external charging source, which greatly expands the power reserve and at the same time provides customers with the typical advantages of a full-fledged electric vehicle (EV).
