Infiniti QX Concept Shows Electric Brand FutureJanuary 15, 2019
Representatives of the Japanese automaker confirmed that a fully electric crossover will appear in the near future – its concept Infiniti QX has been presented so far.
Infiniti QX Inspiration is the new all-electric crossover of the future, which represents a new style of the brand for electric vehicles. The novelty was shown at the Detroit Auto Show. With a length of 4,650 mm, as the new QX50, the concept received a more balanced overall shape and short overhangs behind and in front.
The absence of a massive internal combustion engine allowed the designers to change the proportions of the concept, the false radiator grille disappeared, and a radiant Infiniti logo appeared.
The crossover also received 22-inch rims, which are located inside the muscular wheel arches, with protective linings in black.
“In cases where the V8 gasoline engine takes up quite a lot of space, it forces us to push the car back, electrification allows us to move the car forward and provides a balanced car profile. The power of the electric motor is expressed in the strength and muscularity of the body, ”this is how the general idea of the concept was explained by Alfonso Albaisa, senior vice president of global design at Nissan, which owns Infiniti.
The power of the electric motor is not disclosed, but it is known that the QX Inspiration comes with a rechargeable battery stored under the floor and powering two electric motors, one for each axis. This arrangement means that the crossover did not receive a driveshaft or transmission tunnel, which leads to a “spacious salon interior” with a flat floor. On the dashboard dominates the big screen.
