Infiniti Q60 Project Black S unveiled at Los Angeles Auto ShowNovember 23, 2019
The Japanese company presented the result of cooperation with the Renault F1 team at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
As the tarantas.news portal recalls, in 2017 Infiniti began working with Renault F1 to develop a high-performance hybrid coupe. In the same year, the first prototype of Project Black S. was shown at an exhibition in Geneva.
Already in August of this year, the hybrid Project Black S began to pass tests in Australia on the Salzburgring highway. It is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 with a double turbine, the MGU-H thermal energy collection system and the MGU-K kinetic installation, which allows the car to give out electrical energy during braking and acceleration. Performance is reused by the transmission through the final drive assembly on the rear axle unit is 563 hp
Mike Colleran from Infiniti said that working with the Renault F1 Team showed Infiniti new ways of working. In addition to the familiar process in which engineers develop machines and technologies, this collaboration has made it possible to achieve great success with a small team.
The vehicle offers full control over how the powertrain uses stored energy. Three driving modes are available to drivers: Road, Quali and Race – each of which changes the way it collects and consumes energy.
