Tata is trying not to miss the prestigious exhibition in Switzerland – the Indians have been exhibiting their concepts at the motor show since 1998. Last year, local media reported information that in 2018, Tata will not go to Geneva to save money, but the teaser of the next show car refutes this data. And this despite the fact that cars companies in Europe do not sell.
The name of the new concept is not yet disclosed, its characteristics are also kept secret. Indian journalists believe that in Geneva Tata will demonstrate a sedan built on the modular platform AMP (Advanced Modular Platform) of its own design. The same cart is the basis of the concept hatchback 45X, presented in February this year in India as part of the Auto Expo.
Judging by the picture, like the hatch, the appearance of the four-door sedan is made in the new corporate style Tata, called Impact Design 2.0. It is expected that in a couple of years the concept will become a serial sedan, which in the domestic market will compete with Maruti Suzuki Ciaz (in some countries – Alivio) and Honda City.
In the engine range of the product version of the new Tata can include a gasoline engine 1.2 and turbodiesel 1.5. In addition, customers can also offer hybrid or fully electric options.
Recall, in February, Tata declassified another novelty in the style of Impact Design 2.0 – the conceptual crossover H5X, built on the platform of Land Rover Discovery Sport (Indians own the company Jaguar Land Rover). All-terrain vehicle will be sent to the series in 2019.
