Indian Tata revealed seven-seater crossover GravitasNovember 27, 2019
The new three-row SUV is positioned as a luxury SUV. What will be the new product from Tata Motors, shows the brand new video teaser.
In early 2019, the Indian company Tata introduced the five-seat Harrier crossover, built on the OMEGA Arc platform, to the home market. Recall that this “cart” is called a cheaper version of the D8 platform from Jaguar Land Rover. But on the original architecture, for example, is based on the “pre-reform” Land Rover Discovery Sport. In the spring, at the Geneva motor show, Tata showed the seven-seater Harrier, however, already under a different name Buzzard. At the same time, during the presentation, the company said that in India the three-row crossover will have a different name. Now it is officially unveiled – Gravitas. The video teaser prepared by the brand tells more about the new product.
Externally, Tata Gravitas is likely to be not much different from the Buzzard shown in Geneva. The front of the novelty repeats the five-seater Harrier, but its feed is original: new lights, a redesigned bumper and a tailgate, a “grown” rear overhang. New interior materials may appear in the interior.
In general, the seven-seater crossover is positioned as an SUV for the discerning public.
Geneva Tata Buzzard in Delin reached 4 661 mm with a wheelbase of 2 741 mm. Apparently, Gravitas will have the same dimensions. The top Harrier immediately gets six airbags, modern multimedia with a touchscreen, climate and cruise control, a rear view camera, as well as electronic driver assistants. Gravitas will borrow all this, and of the innovations they expect only a panoramic roof.
The seven-seat cross will be driven by a two-liter Kryotec turbodiesel, the output of which will increase from 140 to 170 horsepower. A six-speed automatic from Hyundai can act as a transmission. Tata Gravitas debut in India in February. Most likely, the novelty will be brought to the Auto Expo auto show. The manufacturer has not yet shared the prices of the new product.
