Indian is preparing several special versions for the anniversary of the Scout modelAugust 30, 2019
This year marks exactly 100 years since the Scout was first shown to the public as the 1920 model. According to some documents, a company may release one or more limited versions of this model.
Indian plans to launch a new Challenger motorcycle next year. But they will not be the only one to remember next year. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has revealed that the manufacturer is preparing one or two special bikes for the Scout anniversary. It is assumed that at the meeting of dealers at the beginning of the month it was precisely the anniversary prototype.
The bike is made in the classical style of the original and is painted in dark red color with golden elements and the name of the brand. Some sources also suggest that the 1920 Scout Bobber Twenty, listed in the documents, will also receive a special edition.
It is likely that special versions will differ from the current generation of Scout only externally. The engine will be the serial 1 113-cc V-twin with a standard 2-in-1 exhaust system.
Indian Scout 1920 has become a landmark model for the manufacturer, given that 100 years have passed, and it is still in demand in the market. Then the legendary motorcycle was equipped with a 606 cc V-engine with a side valve, and the gearbox was bolted to its body. Since the model was first shown in October 1919, it is possible that in October 2019 the company will release something unusual.
Meanwhile, a motorcyclist set an Indian FTR 1200S rear wheel speed record and became the best among 30 participants.
