In Volkswagen called the timing of the appearance of the serial cross-cabrioletOctober 26, 2018
Volkswagen will present the serial version of the modification of the T-Roc crossover with an open body in 2019, and the model will be launched to the market a year later. This is with reference to German brand chief operating officer Ralph Brandtstetter reports Autocar.
Thus, the T-Roc Cabriolet will be the only open model in the Volkswagen lineup, as the automaker removed the Golf Cabriolet and Beetle Convertible in 2016 and 2018, respectively. It is assumed that the new product will be primarily focused on the European market.
In early October, the Volkswagen T-Roc Cabriolet test prototype was first seen during road tests. Judging by the spy shots, the cross-cabriolet will get a two-door body and a soft top. It is assumed that the novelty will be available only with front-wheel drive – otherwise the car will have too much weight in connection with the folding drive mechanism. As expected, the range of engines will include gasoline units with a working volume of 1.5 and 2.0 liters, 150 and 190 hp respectively.
On Thursday, October 25, Volkswagen introduced the new T-Cross crossover, which ranked one step below the T-Roc. The model is based on the MQB 0 modular chassis with a transverse engine, which is used, in particular, on the sixth generation Polo hatchback. The length of the car was 4.11 m, and the size of the wheelbase is 2.56 meters.
The engine range included three-cylinder engines with a volume of one liter with a capacity of 95 and 115 forces, and a 1.4-liter turbo four engine engine, giving out 150 horsepower. In addition, a 1.6-liter 95-horsepower diesel engine will be available.
