The network posted a photo of the test sample of the new SUV Volkswagen. The model is planned to be sold in several markets

In March this year, Volkswagen introduced several new conceptual all-roads in Beijing. Among them was the prototype Powerful Family SUV. Now there was a photo of a pre-series copy of this model, thanks to which we know under what name the crossover will go on sale: the tailgate is decorated with the Tharu nameplate. A snapshot of the novelty was published by the publication Autohome.

Judging by the picture, the commodity cross-section will not differ from the concept, at least from behind. In the Chinese market, Tharu should be out before the end of this year, its production will be adjusted in the Middle Kingdom at a joint venture between Volkswagen and SAIC. According to preliminary data, the closest “relative” of the model is Skoda Karoq.

VW, probably, will receive and motors from Skoda: in China, the Car is available with gasoline 4-cylinder turbo of 1.2 TSI and 1.4 TSI with a capacity of 116 and 150 hp respectively. Transmission is a six-speed manual or a seven-speed automatic DSG. The Chinese version of Skoda Karoq does not have a full drive, so, most likely, Tharu on the Chinese market will also be offered only in the version 4 × 2.

Meanwhile, it became known earlier that Volkswagen Tharu would turn out to be a global model: it is expected that in 2020 the crossover release will be established in Mexico (from there it will be supplied to the USA), Argentina. Probably, in each market, Tharu will have its own, different from the Chinese version, a line of motors. In addition, in other countries, the model probably will have a full drive.

By the way, this year in China start sales of another novelty Volkswagen – crossover Tayron. The prototype model also debuted in March in Beijing, a photo from the product model tests were published in early April. This SUV outside of China probably will not get out.
