It took only a few weeks to sell all KIA eNiro in the UK and other countries. The electric crossover has become so popular that the company now has the task to increase production so that supplies are not delayed for a year.
Due to the popularity of electric vehicles KIA eNiro and Hyundai Kona Electric, Samsung and LG do not have time to supply batteries for both electric vehicles. Despite the fact that companies have doubled their production, they still can not meet the demand. According to John Hargreaves, head of the KIA, the problem with the supply of batteries will continue for another year and a half.
The delivery date of the KIA eNiro electric crossover in the UK was postponed from April to the end of 2019. The production of the electric vehicle will be increased next year as soon as battery problems are resolved.
The electric crossover will be available in several versions. The premium version will have a power reserve on one charge of 452 km via WLTP thanks to a 64 kWh battery and an 150 kW electric motor that accelerates an electric vehicle from 0 to 100 km per hour in 7.8 seconds.
The standard version of the electric car will be supplied with a battery with a capacity of 39.2 kW? H and a power reserve of 288 km on one charge. The power of the electric motor in the standard configuration will be 99 kW, which will allow KIA Niro to accelerate from 0 to 100 km per hour in 9.8 seconds.
