In some places, the Tesla Model 3 interior warms up to extreme temperatures
January 21, 2021In electric vehicles esla Model 3 have found another problem with the heating system
One of the owners of Tesla Model 3 filmed a video about problems with the heating system in an electric car. He used a thermal imager and showed that in the area of the driver’s and front passenger’s legs the temperature rises to extreme + 50 degrees Celsius, although a comfortable 23-25 degrees remains in the rest of the cabin.
Norwegian Bjorn Nyland has twice checked the temperature changes in his Model 3. The first time he recorded +30 degrees in the lower part of the cabin at a given temperature of +21 degrees. A week later, he repeated the experiment and it turned out that in the area of the driver’s and front passenger’s legs, the air warms up to +50 degrees.
In the comments to the video, other Tesla Model 3 owners said they faced similar problems. Moreover, the heating system malfunctioned mainly on pre-styling electric cars in the Long Range version, released in 2019 and 2020.
At the beginning of the year, Electrek.co wrote about problems with the heating system on Model 3 and Model Y electric cars. Then, journalists contacted a Quebec citizen who owns a Model 3 of the 2021 model year, who said that he had no warm air blowing at all. At the dealership, where he turned for help, he was told that this problem is widespread, but there is no solution yet.
