The plug-in hybrid hatchback Mercedes A250e will appear in SeptemberJuly 1, 2019

With the advent of high-performance hatchbacks, the Mercedes-AMG A35 and A45, which reap all the glory of the compact car segment, the German automaker is reportedly preparing an additional option for its regular hatchback.
According to a foreign edition of Autocar, insiders of Mercedes-Benz and the official documentation of the German transport management showed that the A250e performance will be submitted soon.
According to the report, a plug-in hybrid version of the A-class will be presented soon, and it will definitely have the designation A250. The A250e will be equipped with the same 1.3-liter turbo-petrol engine as the A200 version, whose power is 161 horsepower and torque is 250 Nm. Mounted on the gearbox, the electric motor can add 101 hp (300 Nm). They say that in order to withstand high torque, the transmission received eight speeds – such a gearbox is on the new GLB crossover.
A lithium-ion 15 kWh battery from LG Chem, which is installed under the rear seats, will power the electric motor. It is expected that the cruising range in electric mode will be 60 km (according to the WLTP standard). The official documentation of the German transport management indicated that the maximum speed in this mode is 140 km / h. The suspension setting has also been modified to accommodate heavy batteries.
