The tests of the Mercedes-Benz EQ Silver Arrow 01 were held at the Italian circuit in Varano, behind the wheel, replacing each other, worked Stoffel Vandorn and Edoardo Mortara, acting in Formula E for the Venturi team. In 2017-2018 he played for Mercedes in the DTM bodywork series, but still maintains contact with the team. On tests, the Swiss racer replaced Gary Paffett, who last weekend took part in the American stage of the Intercontinental GT Challenge series.
The run-in took place a week ago on Wednesday: the regulations allow you to drive in this mode only 50 km to check the performance of all the onboard systems. But on Thursday and Friday, Vandorn and Mortara had full test days, and as a result, the new car traveled 527 kilometers. The main task was accomplished: the team collected a large amount of information about the work of the first version of the power plant and transmission of a racing electric car.
