In total for last year dealers realized in Japan about 5 230 000 cars.

According to a Kyodo report, sales of new cars in Japan in 2017 rose to around 5,230,000 units. This result is 5.3% more than in the previous year. It is known that the growth in demand in the country was marked for the first time in the past three years.

The increase in demand for new cars in Japan was recorded, despite various scandals in which large local automobile companies were involved. So, last year, massive violations of quality control of the products were revealed. “Under attack” were such important players of the market as Nissan and Subaru.

In December 2017, we reported that the best cars were chosen in Japan. The top ten includes Volvo XC60, BMW 5 Series, Toyota Camry, Suzuki Swift, Honda N-Box / N-Box Custom, Lexus LC, Alfa Romeo Julia, Mazda CX-5, Citroen C3 and Volkswagen Tiguan.

Earlier it became known that Japanese automakers will invest in the development of unmanned vehicle technologies. The development of cars with autopilot is planned to allocate about 25.5 billion dollars: 13.4 billion of them will be allocated by Toyota, 6.7 billion dollars by Honda, and 1.2 billion dollars by Subaru.
