The latest Mahindra eKUV100 electric crossover was unveiled at the Indian Automobile Salon. The power reserve will be only 147 km, and charging up to 80% will take 55 minutes.
Indian car giant Mahindra decided to “break into” the electric segment of the car market. Five new models of electric cars are planned for 2020 at once. The first of these was an urban crossover for 825,000 rupees. Despite the novelty, modern design and new technology is the cheapest electric car in India.
The Mahindra eKUV100 electric car is built on the basis of the standard KUV100 crossover model. Visually, the novelty differs in only a few details. Unlike the original, she received a closed radiator grille, blue decorative elements on it and behind the head optics. Blue tones hinting at electrification continue in the design of the alloy wheels and aft.
Instead of a three-cylinder gasoline engine, an electric motor with a capacity of about 70 horsepower and 120 Nm of torque is installed under the hood. The power reserve is only 147 km. It is assumed that the model will be used exclusively within the city. The battery pack has a capacity of only 16 kW * hours, and is equipped with a liquid cooling system.
In addition, the model received a fairly wide list of modern full-time and additional equipment. The Mahindra eKUV100 crossover can be integrated with the phone to control certain systems and remote diagnostics. It also has keyless access to the cabin, a system of all-round video review and electronic driver assistance.
Unfortunately, the exact date and configuration are not yet announced. It is also not known whether the concern intends to enter the foreign markets with a novelty.
