In Germany, in the framework of the project, Maxitherm invented a new method of heating electric vehicles, allowing a 30% reduction in energy consumption.
Cars with internal combustion engines do not know the problem of heating the passenger compartment, but the owners of electric models are already very familiar with it, especially in winter.
Indeed, for heating an electric car, additional energy is needed, which sufficiently reduces the battery charge.
German scientists with the help of the European Union are working on an alternative heating system for the interior of electric vehicles. Its essence lies in a special technical fabric, which consists of conductive and non-conductive electricity fibers. The fabric is embedded in the design of the car, in particular, under the roof, floor mats and in the seat, and can reduce the energy consumption for interior heating by 30%. Also, thanks to the system in the car you can provide the temperature at which you will feel as comfortable as possible.
The system is currently undergoing testing in Germany. The development will be available in production cars, but it is not known which ones.
