Sales of new cars in Germany last year rose by 2.7 percent to 3.44 million units. In 2016, growth was 4.5 percent. The drop in the growth rate was most affected by the scandal with the main producers, which deceived consumers with the emissions of turbo diesel engines.
According to the source, car sales in Germany fell by about 1 percent in December 2017 to 254,000 cars. However, the registration of new cars by individuals increased by 5 percent last month.
The situation with the implementation of new cars in Germany affected the markets of Italy and France, where December sales fell by 3.2 percent and 0.5 percent respectively. At the same time, the worst situation with turbodiesels on the French market. There, for the last year of registration of diesel vehicles fell by 50 percent for the first time since 2000.
