In China, rebuilt the track for drift, and now he kills carsFebruary 16, 2018
During the stage of the D1GP drift championship in the Chinese city of Shenzhen, it turned out that the organizers rebuilt part of the track. Because of this, most of the participating cars got into serious accidents in the same turn. About this in the podcast Maximum Driftcast told racer Steve “Baggsi” Biagioni.
As it turned out, the organizers of the Chinese stage shifted the asphalt in one of the turns. This led to the fact that one part of the bend was more slippery than the other. Because of this, it was difficult for pilots to control the sliding of cars, and drift ended with a blow against the fence.
Last year, the FIA announced the creation of the Intercontinental Drift Cup. The promoter of the series is the company Sunpros, which since 2000 holds the Japanese championship D1GP. The first stage of the new cup was held at the end of last year on the island of Odaiba in the Tokyo Bay.
