In an old Volvo station wagon installed a powerful motor Lamborghini V10March 9, 2019
Previously, under the hood of a Volvo 245 Wagon wagon was the legendary Japanese engine Toyota 2JZ-GTE, now the owner of the car swung at the Italian Lamborghini V10 engine.
In recent days, the Japanese 2JZ engine was actively discussed by car news sites – not because of its legendary past, but because of its replacement with the BMW engine in the new generation Supra sports coupe. The good old 2JZ may have received a successor in the brand’s lineup, but it remains absolutely indispensable in the hearts of its fans. It is a powerful and durable engine that has been popular for over 20 years.
Volvo, on the other hand, also has a reputation as an almost immortal car. Volvo 200 series cars were built for ages, and those who had the opportunity to own it can confirm this.
With these features in mind, replacing the standard engine in a Volvo 245 Wagon wagon with a 2JZ should be a very good decision.
Despite this, the current owner of the Volvo 245 seems to have decided that the 2JZ “doesn’t care about him anymore.” However, it took a little time before the owner found a replacement. We are talking about the engine V10, which was equipped with the Italian supercar Lamborghini Gallardo. This motor has already taken the place of the 2JZ Volvo.
Unfortunately, this created three problems for the owner of the Volvo station wagon. First, and most obviously, the 5.0-liter V10 is too big for the engine compartment. The engine block has cracks. Finally, it’s hard for the owner to find the right gearbox for the V10.
Even with these three main problems, the owner of Volvo is quite positive about this project. Let’s wait and see what happens.
