Important changes will occur in the engine lineup of the flagship Cadillac CT6May 26, 2019
Last month it became known that a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine would “disappear” from the motor range of the American CT6 sedan. Now it became known that the changes regarding the proposed engines for a full-size sedan do not end there.
According to the data that were at the disposal of the edition of AutoVerdict, the American brand will sell the big CT6 sedan of the next model year with only two engines. This is a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6 and a 4.2-liter twin-turbo V8 that will be available with all-wheel drive and a 10-speed automatic transmission. At the moment, in our country, this sedan is offered only with the 3.6 V6 engine.
If you do not take into account the powerful V8 engine, which is equipped with the so-called “charged” version of the CT6 Platinum model, the 3.0-liter engine is the most powerful engine at the moment.
It produces 404 horsepower, which is much more than that of the 335-strong naturally aspirated 3.6L V6. Both are also connected to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
We checked the online configurator on the US site Cadillac and we can confirm that the version of the CT6 sedan with a 3.0-liter engine and two turbines still exists. So, if you are one of those who want to buy a full-size CT6 sedan with a powerful 3.0-liter engine, you need to hurry – who knows, maybe the management of the American company will change its plans again as soon as possible.
