Images of the updated Nissan Navara (Frontier) 2021 pickup appearedJanuary 24, 2020
The mid-size Japanese pickup truck is reported to debut in September this year and go on sale in February 2021. There are no data on pricing and trim levels yet.
The Nissan Frontier pickup, which is better known in some markets under the name Navara, will finally receive a new generation – the novelty will be presented later this year. It is worth noting that the current generation of this popular car was shown back in 2005. We don’t have any “spy” snapshots on which test prototypes of a new generation of mid-size pickup are captured. But on the other hand, we can show you a new rendering, which makes it possible now to look at the new generation of the model.
It is assumed that the new Frontier will be similar to the current version of another pickup of the Japanese company – we are talking about a full-sized Titan.
Nissan Global Vice President of Design Alfonso Albaisa announced in 2019 that the updated design of the new Navara (Frontier) will embody the “spirit of adventure”.
Nissan also plans to introduce an updated engine range for its truck. It is assumed that the model will receive a 3.8-liter V6 with a capacity of more than 300 horsepower, and this engine will replace the existing 2.5-liter four-cylinder unit and a 4.0-liter V6. The company is also considering adding a hybrid powertrain to the engine range.
There are conflicting rumors about a truck using a nine or seven speed automatic transmission. Also, customers will be offered a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The debut of the new Navara (Frontier), reportedly, will take place in September this year, and its sales will begin in February 2021. The company has already confirmed that mass production of the car will be launched at the plant in Mississippi (USA).
