A car can be reborn three years after the end of sales.
On Saturday, April 11, the first images of the all-new Volkswagen Scirocco appeared on the web. The model was produced for 10 years – from 2008 to 2017. Over the past two years, the car was produced in a sports modification of the GTS with a 2.0-liter engine with a return of 220 horsepower. After the release of the new generation of the Golf hatchback, experts came to the conclusion that the German company could revive the Scirocco. Many wondered what a new car might look like.
An authoritative designer portrayed it as a three-door hatchback with a sporty character. The front part of the car is almost completely borrowed from the eighth generation Volkswagen Golf GTI – in this case, the car received a narrow radiator grille, a “mesh” bumper and expressive headlights. But the silhouette of the new Scirocco received the original.
Due to the roof lowered to the rear of the car, the car gets a sportier and more aggressive look. The style adds a spoiler on the tailgate.
Fancy original four-spoke rims complete the look. Under the hood of the new version of the Volkswagen Scirocco, a 2.0-liter turbo engine with a return of 245 hp should be located at 370 Nm of torque. The same power unit relies on the Volkswagen Golf GTI 2021 model year. Experts suggest that the appearance of a car in this type of body is unlikely – everything is associated with record low sales of three-door hatchbacks.
