Illegal luxury hatchback Jaguar put up for saleMarch 16, 2018
On the British site The Market there was an announcement about the sale of the hatchback Jaguar XJS. Modification with this body was never officially released – it was remaded from the coupe by a former employee of the Jaguar.
The idea of building a hatchback, he had been hatching since 1981, but engaged in remaking the car only in 2008. The source of inspiration for the construction of the car became the work of other bodywork studios: in particular, we are talking about a jukeing break XJS Eventer from Lynx Engineering.
The hatchback was based on the XJS AJ6 with a four-liter engine and an automatic transmission. The car removed the rear of the body and made a new fuel tank made of stainless steel.
Final work on conversion was carried out by James Sidwell Classic Cars: installed body panels, upper brake light and lights. The XJS also received rims from the 1993 XJR sedan and oval tailpipes from the modification of Celebration, issued in honor of the 60th anniversary of Jaguar. In total, it took 58 hours to rework the car.
Built in a single copy of the hatchback Jaguar XJS is 19 thousand pounds sterling. The mileage of the car is almost 190 thousand kilometers.
Another unusual Jaguar, this time, the XJ’s restaurant, prepared by Jaguar Classic, was presented at the Geneva Motor Show. The car was built for the drummer of the Iron Maiden group by Nico McBrain. The modification of the body, cabin, power plant and suspension took 3500 hours, as well as 4000 new parts and components.
