IIHS named the safest cars of 2018

The American Insurance Institute for Road Safety published a list of 15 models that managed to score the highest rating in the tests.

With the new, more stringent safety requirements for cars next year, including a more rigorous assessment of the performance of the head optics, the IIHS identified 15 winners who received the Top Safety Pick Plus for 2018. With a more modest assessment Top Safety Pick were able to pass the tests of 47 models.

The largest number of models in the “winning” list was delegated by the Japanese brand Subaru, four more brands – Hyundai, Kia, Genesis and Mercedes-Benz two models each, and one more for BMW, Lincoln and Toyota. By the way, Lincoln is the only American brand in this list.
