I Blue – Lexus IS Special EditionSeptember 30, 2019
A version with this name enters the Japanese domestic market on October 1. It is designed for IS300 F SPORT, IS300h and IS350. Features – exterior color and trim.
The automaker claims that almost every thing that distinguishes I Blue from the usual IS variants is designed to remind of Japan – for this, colors and materials characteristic of the “traditional cultural motifs of the country” were used. First of all, indigo body color is distinguished here. An equally important role, according to Lexus, is played by the steering wheel trim and decorative inserts on it. There are also special materials in the trim, and their color combination “should look characteristic.”
Outside, in addition to body color, the I Blue Series cars feature a black finish on the radiator grill and side mirrors. Combined finishes (gloss black + polished metal) have new 18-inch alloy wheels with 225 / 40R18 tires in the front and 255 / 35R18 in the rear. In addition to indigo, there will be other body colors: white (White Nova Glass Flake), gray (Mercury Gray Mica) and black (Graphite Black Crow Flake)
In the cabin, in addition to the steering wheel and decorative inserts, black-gray upholstery of the seats with artificial leather (L Tex) with blue and gray-blue stitching, metallic finish on the center console are distinguished.
The equipment corresponds to the upper Lexus IS equipment, but the memory of the steering wheel and driver’s seat settings with an automatic shift mechanism to facilitate boarding and disembarking, automatic folding mirrors, ventilation of the driver’s seat, side airbags for rear passengers are especially highlighted.
The cost of Lexus IS I Blue in Japan will be 5,416,000 – 6,577,000 yen, and depending on the original modification.
