Hyundai unveiled a new version of Ioniq 2020May 3, 2019
The model will receive new technologies, technical innovations and a larger battery. Now the electric car will receive up to 300 km of power reserve for the WLTP cycle (in practice, 150-200 km), as well as faster charging.
After showing the conceptual version of the new generation Hyundai Ioniq 2020 model year, the company decided to share more details. The main update for the electrified line of models is a more capacious battery of 38.3 kW * hours. This will allow to expand the cruising range from 200 to 300 km / h over the WLTP cycle.
Another update will be a complete charger for 7.2 kW * hours, which will replace the current version of 6.6 kW * h. It is also noted that using the fast charging station can fill up to 80% of the battery in just 54 minutes. As a power unit, a 136-horsepower electric motor is still used, capable of developing up to 295 Nm of torque.
As for the Ioniq Hybrid and Ioniq Plug-in, they will continue to be equipped with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder Kappa GDI petrol engine with 105 hp. and 147 Nm of torque.
Despite the modest technical update, the models will be able to boast a rich e-filling, including active security systems, semi-autonomous control technologies and wide multimedia capabilities.
An updated version of the Hyundai Ioniq will be available in July 2019.
