Hyundai to end sales of Elantra GT and Elantra GT N Line in USAugust 9, 2020
Hyundai Elantra N Line 2021 model year is partly declassified and the full premiere of the new product will take place very soon. At the same time, today, on August 8, from the press release of the company it became known that with the advent of a new car in the United States, two other models of the brand will leave this country.
Thus, the Korean corporation announced that in the American market Elantra N Line will replace such cars as the Elantra GT and Elantra GT N Line.
The compact hatchback and its “charged” variation will cease to exist in the United States. The press release clearly states that the “death” of the Elantra GT N Line is directly related to the arrival of the Elantra N Line sedan. At the same time, the departure of the Elantra GT is also due to the fact that Hyundai has expanded the line of profitable models of the SUV segment in the American market with such cars as Venue and Kona.
It should be emphasized that sales of Elantra in the US dropped significantly from 2018 to 2019 (200,415 vs. 175,094 units). In turn, the volume of sales of Kona in the US market increased from 47,090 to 73,326 units. for the same period, while the Venue model, sales of which started in the fourth quarter of last year, were sold in the amount of 1,077 copies.
In addition, it was recently noted that the new Hyundai Tucson was shown in spy photos ahead of the imminent premiere. It is worth noting that the fourth generation crossover may debut this month.
