“Today we presented the concept car HDC-2, which helps to trace the evolution of our design. We have made a big step towards turning Hyundai into a brand that customers will perceive emotionally and want to become a company that they really love, ” – said Hyundai Chief Designer Sang-yup Lee.

The South Korean company has so far published only two images of the novelty, which show that the car received a massive radiator grille and large wheels. It is possible that some design solutions will be used in the future serial flagship crossover brand Hyundai.

Previously, the company Hyundai introduced a new version of the model Tucson, which received a power plant based on a diesel engine using the Mild Hybrid technology

The two-liter 186-hp heavy-fuel engine operates together with a 12-kilowatt (16 hp) compact electric motor, acting as a starter-generator, which in turn is powered by a 48-volt on-board electrical system based on a lithium-ion battery at 0.44 kilowatt-hours. The automaker noted that the use of the hybrid scheme allowed a 7% reduction in the average fuel consumption.
