At the motor show in South Korea, Busan presented the concept car Hyundai HDC-2 Grandmaster, giving an idea of the future flagship crossover
The company Hyundai introduced the conceptual crossover HDC-2 Grandmaster, designed to give an idea of the appearance of future models of the brand. The premiere of the prototype took place at the motor show in South Korea’s Busan.
“Today we presented the concept car HDC-2, which helps to trace the evolution of our design. We have made a big step towards turning Hyundai into a brand that customers will perceive emotionally and want to become a company that they really love, ” – said Hyundai Chief Designer Sang-yup Lee.
The South Korean company has so far published only two images of the novelty, which show that the car received a massive radiator grille and large wheels. It is possible that some design solutions will be used in the future serial flagship crossover brand Hyundai.
Previously, the company Hyundai introduced a new version of the model Tucson, which received a power plant based on a diesel engine using the Mild Hybrid technology
The two-liter 186-hp heavy-fuel engine operates together with a 12-kilowatt (16 hp) compact electric motor, acting as a starter-generator, which in turn is powered by a 48-volt on-board electrical system based on a lithium-ion battery at 0.44 kilowatt-hours. The automaker noted that the use of the hybrid scheme allowed a 7% reduction in the average fuel consumption.
