Hyundai showed the cheapest crossoverJanuary 20, 2021
Bayon. This is the name of the new Hyundai compact crossover. The model name has already been released, but the image has not yet been released. Up to this day.
Hyundai will soon be expanding its crossover range with an all-new model called the Bayon. It will be the fifth and smallest crossover of the South Korean brand, so it is still positioned below the Kona in the lineup. Hyundai is now making its first impression with a few design sketches.
Anyone who knows the Kona, the new i20, Tucson and Santa Fe will notice that Hyundai is taking a more explicit path in terms of design than it did a few years ago. The Bayon promises to be a stable model and will come exclusively with front-wheel drive. It will also share many components with the i20 hatchback, including the dashboard design and some of the latter’s powertrains.
Like Hyundai’s other crossovers and SUVs, the newcomer has an eccentric front fascia with narrow LED daytime running lights. The main headlight unit is located at the front, level below. The rear lighting is even more interesting: Hyundai gives the Bayon an extremely angular rear end design with vertically oriented and almost boomerang lamps connected by a thin LED strip.
According to the automaker, Hyundai Bayon has a “clean, high-tech look” that incorporates the Sensuous Sportiness brand identity, “which combines emotional value with innovative design solutions.” Bayon is a crossover specially designed for the European market, which is probably why it is named after a city located in southwestern France: Bayonne.
