Hyundai Santa Fe Cabriolet: exclusive car, the only one in the worldSeptember 12, 2018
Hyundai surprised the world with a completely new seven-seater SUV-cabriolet. But unfortunately the car is made in a single copy, and there are no plans for serial production yet.
The first images of an absolutely incredible car appeared on the web – Hyundai Santa Fe Cabriolet, and colleagues from a foreign publication managed to test a one-of-a-kind car.
The model was developed in the European design studio of the company. The new Santa Fe Cabriolet combines two styles – a weekend car for entertainment, and a strange practical body with three rows of seats. The model is built on the basis of the standard model platform, with a significantly redesigned and reinforced body.
Under the hood is a modest but sturdy 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel engine with a turbocharger that develops up to 200 horsepower and torque of 440 Nm, consuming 15.8 liters of fuel per 100 km (compared to 7.5 l / 100 km on the standard version). In pair with it the firm system of a full drive works.
Unfortunately, the third row of seats did not allow engineers to install a convertible roof. Therefore, the car has a purely aesthetic application, not carrying any practical benefit, since it can be used only in good weather without rain, frost or heat. In all likelihood, the manufacturer will add a separate soft roof to the kit, which will be installed manually.
In general, all Hyundai models are quite affordable, but the future convertible, if released, will cost about $ 130,000, and the first cars can appear only in 2019. This will make the model the most expensive in the company’s passenger line. Of course, Santa Fe Cabriolet is exclusively a niche product, and probably will only be used as an entertainment vehicle. Therefore, its sales will be small.
Among other things, the model features a unique, patented technology for installing a windshield, allowing you to create a windless space on all three rows of seats.
In the interior is also all excellent, all the seats are finished with high-quality Italian leather in the new corporate color Kimchi. Each row is equipped with heating (a strange solution for a cabrio without a roof), and the first row is also equipped with ventilation.
Meanwhile, the web has rendered images of the new Hyundai Styx crossover, built on the Solaris platform. It is known that the model will receive a very attractive price tag below the Hyundai Creta.
