Hyundai Santa Fe 2019 will get a fingerprint scannerDecember 27, 2018
We have seen this technology before, but Hyundai engineers say they were able to take it to a new level. Thanks to the new technology, with the help of a fingerprint, car owners will be able to open the doors and even start the engine.
According to official data, the new versions of the South Korean crossover Hyundai Santa Fe (2019 model year) will be implemented unlock / lock technology using a fingerprint. Sales of crossovers with this system will start from the first quarter of next year.
How it works? On the door handle there is a fingerprint scanning sensor and another one on the “Start / Stop” button.
Thanks to the new technology, with the help of a fingerprint, car owners will be able to open the doors and even start the engine. After comparing information about driver data with the scanned print, the Santa Fe crossover automatically adjusts things like side mirrors and the driver’s seat position according to your preference. According to representatives of the brand, over time, this technology will be further developed.
Hyundai notes that the fingerprint recognition technology provides an increased level of security thanks to a special capacitive scanner. The system is able to detect differences in the level of electricity in different parts of the fingertip, so fake fingerprints and fakes will not be a problem. It is also noted that the fingerprint recognition technology is five times more efficient than conventional ignition keys, since the probability of mistaken recognition of another person’s fingerprints is 1 in 50,000.
